Apologies in advance for the disgracefully bad language in this blog. But this was posted by my Tory opponent on his website – a man who wants to be Gloucester’s MP. Do you think this kind of language is acceptable for somebody in public life?

I’ve written to David Cameron saying that Cameron and his PPC owe me an apology, but I think Gloucester residents deserve one as well for putting up with this kind of language from somebody who wants to represent them. Cameron needs to show some leadership and say whatever disagreements we have on issues, this kind of thing just damages politics full stop. I’ve told Cameron he should sack him and do it now, or does he buy his PPC’s arguement that what he meant was ‘councillor’ and not c***

A mistake that was put right straight away is a bit different from the excuses we see every day from Labour
How about publishing your expenses in full as the tories are now doing ?

Jeez – One simple mistake (no swear word would actually fit in that sentence if you looked before crying – and lets face it, Britain today has an amazing array of swear words now available and used by most children!)
So come on, you want someone sacked for that? Of course it would be easier for you if your opponents simply disappeared lol – Concentrate on real politics and stop trying to spin something out of nothing….. Im not even a Conservative fan but having read this on Sky News felt I had to say something. Really is a typical Labour tactic, you guy’s need to get a grip and grow up.
By the way, Ive written to Gordon Brown asking him to sack you for having a drab web site…

If it had been me that Richard Graham had linked to a Snollygoster,it would have ended there and then with a poke in the eye with a clenched fist.
This is not America ,so why use an American slang word linked to Birth out of Wedlock and also what we would call a ” Spiv “?
Maybe he meant Snallygoster, (A German word) which would be even worse than calling someone a **** (my word) and resulted in two pokes in the kisser.
Either way,I won’t consider voting for Richard Graham as a “Right Honourable” for using “Gutter” tactics.

Anyone who wants to bring back the term ’snollygoster’ will now win my vote on sheer principle. Lets face it – We have a house full of snollygoster’s…
And why won’t you disclose your expenses here Mr Dhanda? Not much to ask is it?

I’ve been reading the Green Book http://www.parliament.uk/documents/upload/GreenBook.pdf and the fundamental principles about what is a reasonable expense are there in such plain English that even my 6 year old would understand them. So far every case of “within the rules” mantra has failed the plain and simple principles test, to which as every commensense person knows the rules are simply subservient clarification.
I think MPs are lucky that the media hasn’t raised the principles trump rules angle.
Frankly, I’d rather have a House full of rough and sweary but honest MPs than one with far too many polite little chisellers.
You may feel hard done by, but frankly the rest of us are shocked and hold you all collectively responsible for this fiasco. It feels like someone has opened the doors to the Augean Stables.
Clean it up.
“Sunlight is the best disinfectant” – U.S. Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis, refering to the benefits of openness and transparency.
As to the candidates letter – your whinging about this, at this time, smacks of someone who doesn’t understand how annoyed people are.

I wish all of the MPs including yourself would resign. You may not of claimed as much as the other MPs but you knew what was going on with taxpayer’s money for expenses.
You are as guilty of dishonesty as the others.

The only expense detail I’m interested in (no, seriously, it does give me cause to wonder) is the nature of this ‘cutlery set’, At just under £400, IIRC, it would have to be the most amazing thing to justify that expense (a genuine Jedi lightsabre, with fork and spoon attachments?), or a rip off. It’s not easy to see a middle ground, unless all MPs have to be prepared in case the Queen pops round for an impromptu visit…
